The Indigenous People of Central Mexico

I, Walter Dufour, currently live in the mountainous state of Guanajuato, located in the heart of central Mexico. Being mestizo myself (somebody of Native and European descent) I've become fascinated with the aboriginal cultures of the North American continent the Lakota-Sioux call "Turtle Island", this has inspired me to study the native people of the beautiful region where I current live.

The Otomi and Chichimeca Jonaz are native to the state and have quite a remarkable culture and language: They both practice animistic and polytheist traditions, the use of sound derived from percussion such as drums and rattles are very common amongst their culture. Worship of the sun and earth is also quite common.
